Ground Dance and Stilt Dance Workshops Organized by the FGFL
After the instructor workshops and the music workshops, the Fédération du Folklore Landais (FGFL) offers two major highlights: the ground dance workshops and the stilt dance workshops.
These workshops take place over two separate days, entirely dedicated to the transmission of traditional Landaise dances.
During these days, instructors teach FGFL members dances carefully selected in advance. The learning process is structured into three levels:
Beginners, to discover the basics of Landaise folklore,
Intermediate, to progress and expand their repertoire,
Advanced, to perfect their technique and learn more complex choreographies.
Each group evolves according to its level and learns dances adapted to its skills.
The Restitution: A Key Moment of the Workshop
At the end of each day, dancers present the work they have accomplished during the restitution. This festive and convivial moment allows each group to showcase the dances learned and share the energy of Landaise folklore.

Weekend Dance Workshops
Every two years, the FGFL organizes a special edition: the ground dance and stilt dance workshops brought together in a single weekend.
Member groups gather in one place for a great weekend of traditional Landaise dance.
Day 1: Learning – dedicated to practicing and studying the dances.
Day 2: Restitution and cohesion activity – a moment of sharing, conviviality, and celebration around Landaise folklore.
These weekend workshops are a true immersion into culture and tradition, offering participants the chance to experience Landaise dance intensively while strengthening the bonds between the federation’s different groups.
