The FGFL and Popular Races
The Fédération du Folklore Landais (FGFL) takes part every year in many official races and sporting events. The famous stilt runners from the Landes can be seen at major competitions such as:
the Course du Moun in Mont-de-Marsan,
the Feriascapade in Dax,
as well as races organized directly by the FGFL, including those in Parentis, Montfort-en-Chalosse, and the Translandes.
Stilt Runners in Marathons and Half-Marathons
Beyond festive and local races, the FGFL stilt runners also compete in long-distance events. They regularly take part in Marathons and Half-Marathons, such as the Marathon des Landes, along with many other sporting challenges across the region and beyond.
These unique participations showcase the richness of Landes folklore, combining athletic performance with the ancestral tradition of running and dancing on stilts.
